In August 2008 Arts Council England published the results of their new, in-depth segmentation research, Arts Audiences: Insight.
The research intends to help the arts sector get a better understanding of current and potential arts audiences across England. It provides new insight into the patterns of arts consumption and attitudes towards the arts, how people spend their leisure time, and what competes with the arts for people's attention. It also considers socio-demographic factors, media consumption and lifestyles.

The event will include an introduction to segmentation, discussions around the use of segmentation within arts marketing & audience development, an overview of the Arts Audiences: Insight segmentation research, followed by a practical workshop to demonstrate how to apply the new research.
